Isn't that what Travel Agents do?

No, not really.

When you book with a typical travel agent, they’ll lock in a flight, some accommodation, transfers if you need them and, a few tours you might like to do. In theory, this is great, but in practical terms, it can result in you missing out on a bunch of travel experiences you’d really love to have had.

 

Imagine, for example that you’re planning to visit Italy. You want to see Rome, Vatican City, Venice, The Amalfi Coast and The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Seeing the Sistine Chapel is, of course, on your must-do list. Except that when you get there, you discover you needed to have booked entry tickets to the Sistine Chapel months in advance.

You assumed your Travel Agent would tell you about it. But they didn’t. Why? Because
that’s not what they do.

This is where Travel By Finch differs.

We’re not a travel agency.

We specialise in planning and booking personalised travel for our clients.

We like to think of ourselves as your Personal Travel Concierge. And if you think that sounds pricey, it absolutely isn’t. In fact, we’re typically a lower cost than going to any of the mainstream travel agencies.


Here’s how it works.


First, we spend a fair bit of time with you upfront to get to know exactly what you’re hoping to get from your holiday.

Do you want to see as much as possible? Would you like some time to relax and just be like a local? Understanding how you’d like to holiday is as important as where.

We’re also interested in how you want to get around. Do you want to be in a hotel in the heart of
everything, able to walk to all the key sites, or would you prefer to be in a typical home, a little further out, with a little more travel to get to the main sites?

We’ll find you the perfect fit.
Even flights aren’t necessarily obvious. You might want the lowest priced flight you can get, but perhaps you’d be prepared to pay a little more in order to spend 7-hours less in an airport layover?


Our approach is designed to take all the research and stress off your hands. We take the time to get to know you and your preferred holiday, then we plan the trip to make sure it suits what you want.

If you’re so personalised,

how can you save me money?

In short, we don’t have the same overheads that the big brand agencies have.

We don’t have a huge office expense to cover for example, because we work with you over the phone, or via a Skype or Facetime call, to create tailor-made travel outcomes just for you.

We also get the same types of commission payments that the big agencies get, but because we don’t have their overheads, we can pass some of those commissions back to you.

It means you get a much more personalised service (and holiday) for less money.
